Biological Innovations

Four autologous biological products. One platform.
Your body, your cure - The future of healthcare.

The SWISS concept product line builds on a shared foundation: Swiss Platelet Gel Life (SPGL) tubes for gel separation and ProtSmart ultrafiltration technology from Medica S.p.A. Each product is configured for a different clinical need — from standard platelet-rich plasma to a complete biological concentrate with characterized exosomes.

The SWISS concept

Platform

Every SWISS concept product starts with Swiss Platelet Gel Life (SPGL) tubes — proprietary gel separation tubes that isolate platelet-rich plasma from red blood cells in a single centrifugation step. No double-spin. No buffy coat harvesting. No operator-dependent pipetting.

Two of the four products add a second step: ultrafiltration through a ProtSmart device (Medica S.p.A., Medolla, Italy). The ProtSmart membrane removes only plasma water and small solutes (below 15 kDa) while retaining platelets, plasma proteins, growth factors, and extracellular vesicles. This is the zero-loss concentration principle — nothing therapeutic is discarded.

The result: four products spanning the full spectrum of autologous biological therapy, from a simple injectable PRP to a fully characterized biological concentrate.

THE FOUR PRODUCTS

autologIX by SWISS concept

The complete biological concentrate

48 mL blood. 4 SPGL tubes. ProtSmart 6 ultrafiltration.
Output: approximately 6–7 mL concentrate.

autologIX produces a concentrated autologous biological product containing five characterized components: exosomes and extracellular vesicles (confirmed by NTA, flow cytometry, and TEM), concentrated plasma proteins including alpha-2-macroglobulin and fibrinogen, dual-axis growth factors (platelet-derived and extraplatelet IGF-1 and HGF), platelets, and fibrin scaffold precursors.

Designed for applications requiring higher volume and comprehensive biological content: large joints, spine, wound care, surgery, and clinical fields where exosome biology and protein enrichment are relevant.

Exosome content analytically characterized. Three methods. MISEV2023-aligned.

PCX by SWISS concept

Protein-enriched platelet-rich plasma

24 mL blood. 2 SPGL tubes. ProtSmart 2 ultrafiltration.
Output: approximately 3–4 mL concentrate.

PCX concentrates platelets and plasma proteins together through gel separation followed by ultrafiltration. Where standard PRP systems discard platelet-poor plasma along with its dissolved proteins, PCX retains and concentrates them — including fibrinogen for scaffold formation, alpha-2-macroglobulin for protease inhibition, and extraplatelet growth factors (IGF-1, HGF) that centrifugation alone cannot enrich.

Designed for applications where a compact, high-recovery platelet concentrate with protein enrichment is needed: aesthetics, hair restoration, dental procedures, and small-joint injections.

Concentrate by retaining. Not by discarding.

PRP by SWISS concept

Standard gel-separated platelet-rich plasma

SPGL tubes with anticoagulant and separator gel.
Single centrifugation. No ultrafiltration step.

PRP by SWISS concept provides a straightforward, gel-separated platelet-rich plasma. The SPGL tube’s separator gel isolates platelet-rich plasma above the barrier in a single spin — no manual pipetting, no buffy coat harvesting, no second centrifugation. The result is a leukocyte-poor PRP ready for immediate clinical use.

Designed for practitioners seeking a simple, reproducible PRP preparation without the additional concentration step of ultrafiltration.

PRF by SWISS concept

Injectable platelet-rich fibrin

SPGL tubes without anticoagulant and without separator gel.
15 mL blood. Single 4-minute spin.

PRF by SWISS concept uses a specially configured SPGL tube — without anticoagulant and without separator gel — to produce injectable platelet-rich fibrin (iPRF). The absence of anticoagulant allows natural fibrin polymerization to begin during processing, creating a liquid fibrin matrix rich in platelets, leukocytes, and growth factors.

Designed for applications where a fibrin-based autologous matrix is preferred: surgical augmentation, socket preservation, soft tissue grafting, and procedures benefiting from the sustained growth factor release of a fibrin scaffold.

Important: PRF by SWISS concept uses a DIFFERENT SPGL tube variant than PRP and PCX. The PRF tube contains no anticoagulant and no separator gel. These tubes must not be interchanged.

Choosing the right SWISS concept product

All four products use Swiss Platelet Gel Life (SPGL) tubes and single-spin gel separation. They differ in whether ultrafiltration is added, what tube variant is used, and what the output contains.

Shared

Technology

Shared technology across the SWISS concept line

SWISS PLATELET GEL LIFE (SPGL) TUBES

Proprietary gel separation tubes manufactured for Biological Innovations. The thixotropic separator gel migrates during centrifugation, forming a physical barrier that retains red blood cells and granulocytes below while platelets and plasma proteins stratify above. Single spin. Minimal operator dependency.

PROTSMART ULTRAFILTRATION (PCX and autologIX only)

Hollow-fiber ultrafiltration devices manufactured by Medica S.p.A. (Medolla, Italy). MediSulfone® polysulfone membrane with 15 kDa molecular weight cutoff. Removes plasma water and small solutes; retains everything above the cutoff: platelets, plasma proteins, growth factors, cytokines, and extracellular vesicles. Two configurations: ProtSmart 2 (for PCX) and ProtSmart 6 (for autologIX).

NO SPECIALIZED
EQUIPMENT

All SWISS concept products require only a standard laboratory centrifuge — equipment already present in most clinical settings. No proprietary PRP centrifuge, no automated system, no capital equipment investment.
